As well as being an author and community leader Hajj Amal is Senior Consultant at the DMC Consultancy specialising in fundraising training and business advice and is a member of the UK Institute of Fundraising (INF). He was until recently also acting as the Director of Finance and CEO of the Norwich Academy for Languages & Continuing Education (NALCE) where he also tutored in mathematics and business studies.
Previously, he was for two years Director of the Islamic Resource Centre (IRC) and for several years was a part-time tutor at the Ahfiwe Saturday School in South London, teaching English, history and mathematics. As well as accountancy, travel & shipping, his entrepreneurial experience includes the production and distribution of health products, computer sales, publishing and security services. These experiences contributed to him later founding the Open Trade Network, of which he is still a member. He is a much sought after public speaker and has written many well known short publications including: An Interview with Ralston X, and For the Coming Woman, and also served as the editor of the business publication ‘The Journeyman’s Review.’
He has successfully helped charities, vouluntary organisations and social enterprises raise money through fundraising events, dedicated campaigns, grant aid, corporate giving and membership drives.
